Executive Team
INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Marlon began his accounting career as an Auditor in 1987 and spent 4 years in this area. He went on to the retail sector for 5 years where he transitioned from the position of Accountant to that of General Manager for several retail outlets. In 1997 Marlon entered the International Financial Services Sector where he was employed as Account Managerfor5 years.

In 2003 Marlon Ricardo enhanced and expanded his knowledge of Financial Services when he joined USA Risk Group where he was employed as a Senior Accountant and was subsequently promoted to Senior Account Manager. In this capacity he was responsible for the overall management of a portfolio of Captive Insurance companies, including those owned by publicly traded parent entities.

In June of 2013 Marlon joined another entity as a Vice President with responsibility for the Management Services department which is comprised of Captive Insurance, International Business Companies (IBC’s) and the financial reporting of Trust Structures and served as a director for clients managed by company.

In 2015 joined another financial services company as its President where he had overall responsibility for the entire operation and strategic direction. He subsequently formed AMA Management Company Limited, where he is providing management and consulting services to entities in the Global Business Sector. Marlon is a Past President of the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) and was the Chair of the Insurance Committee and served as Chair of BIBA’s Steering Committee for its International Business Week 2016.

Marlon Ricardo is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA) as well as the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Durham in the UK and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados. He was also appointed a Justice of the Peace in Barbados in1999.Marlonis married and has two children.

CEO – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kwaku Baah-Nuakoh was the Country Manager for W-Safe Re for the period 2022/23. He supervised the setting of W-Safe Re Ltd, Ghana office. Kwaku’s strategy was to consolidate the Ghana Agriculture Insurance Pool transactions under the ambit of W-Safe Re Ghana office.

In Ghana, Kwaku set up the Life desk and negotiated a retro program with an A-rated security for W-Safe Group Life underwriting desk.

Prior to joining W-Safe Re, Kwaku held the position of an Assistant Manager in International Operations (Anglophone) Department with Ghana Reinsurance Plc. He supervised major responsibilities but not limited to helping grow the company’s profitability through effective supervision of the activities of the department: ensuring prudent underwriting, variance analysis report/budgeting and generally maintaining a good relationship between the department and its business partners.

Kwaku holds a BSc. Administration (Banking & Finance) and Master of Business Administration from University of Ghana Business School. Professionally, he holds a Diploma in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII), The Gambia.

Kwaku is a member of Chartered Insurance Institute, U.K., and has extensively attended various courses/seminars both locally and internationally.

He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration from Universidad Catolica De Murcia (UCAM), Spain

With 15 years of experience working in the international market, he best understands the market activities better.

Mr. Kwaku Baah-Nuakoh, was an adviser to Sey Re Limited, Seychelles. He assisted in the drafting of Sey Re’s Business and Marketing Plan as well as reviewing their TOBA & AML/Compliance document for approval by the FSA of Seychelles later nominated as the tentative CEO.

Again, He has assisted a few new startups (reinsurance companies) in simulating technical projections and budgeting.

Kwaku’s areas of interest are Oil & Gas insurance, Agriculture Insurance, Medical Insurance and Marine underwriting. He was a Facilitator on Oil & Gas training discussing the Alpha Piper Claim extensively.

George Nandy is a veteran insurance/reinsurance practitioner involved in the business since 1974 and currently working as a consultant on reinsurance, a non-executive member of 2 boards overseeing strategy and strengthening corporate governance and regulatory compliance, powering the organisation to accomplish its mission.

His career trajectory is marked by unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainable growth in the insurance space; with a strong academic background including a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology and a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute, he is a story of resilience, innovation, and relentless drive to power prosperity.

A career spanning senior management roles in various insurance organisations, He has also built a company from the ground up, scaling it up regionally whilst providing invaluable guidance to achieve strategic goals.

He has played a fundamental role in powering youth for a future in insurance by investing in their education, training, and exposure, thus equipping them with the skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset they need to thrive. He has a strong commitment to continuous learning, career growth, and future-proofing the workforce.

He also has shaped generations of CEOs and other leaders through his leadership and vision, thus empowering them to build empires of their own, to noticeable success.

He is a seasoned insurance professional, practitioner, mentor, and influencer who enjoys reading, travel, golf, and music.

Barbados
Independent Director

Jacqueline holds a degree in Accounting and is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has the Trust and Estate Professional (TEP) designation. Jacqueline has over twenty- five years’ experience derived from her career which started at the Royal Bank of Canada where she worked and gathered a wealth of knowledge in the banking, finance, compliance and trust areas. In 2007 she joined Bayshore Bank and Trust now known as J&T Bank and Trust where she headed the Trust and Corporate department responsible for managing a team of Accountants, Corporate and Trust Professionals. While at J & T she was instrumental in utilizing the Barbados/Mexico bilateral income tax treaty to enter the Mexican market, developing new business for the bank.

In 2018 Jaqueline using her extensive knowledge acted as advisor and consultant on various projects for a captive insurance company, and a private equity investor company where she assisted in achieving their business strategies. She also was appointed as Director for a number of companies from Insurance Companies, Segregated Cell Companies, Investment Management Companies to name a few.

Jacqueline currently holds the post of CEO at Eticas International (Barbados) Limited

Jacqueline currently sits on the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Barbados Chapter Board as Assistant Treasurer and Chair of the Events Committee and she held positions on the Barbados Chapter Board of the Certified General Accountants.

Dinesh Salgadu is a proficient reinsurance professional with a solid track record in the industry.

He has over fifteen years of experience in underwriting and reinsurance broking, and he has a track record of providing effective solutions for any reinsurance issue.

He combines creative thinking, strategic thinking, and a love of reinsurance to produce consistently outstanding results.

Dinesh holds a Master of Business Administration – International from Canterbury Christ Church University – UK.

He also holds professional qualifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute—UK and the Indian Insurance Institute—India. He has been with Sey Re since its setup and is currently working as the Chief Technical Officer of Sey Re.

Manager, Overseas Markets – West Africa Markets

Elvis Sarfo Marfo is a seasoned reinsurance professional with nearly a decade of experience and expertise in reinsurance advisory, risk analysis, reinsurance program design, and risk management.

His experience spans reinsurance underwriting, reinsurance business development and marketing, and is very conversant with the West African regional insurance market.

Elvis possesses diverse skills, encompassing strategic reinsurance guidance, thorough risk analysis, and the development of effective risk management programs to create value for underwriters. He has the capacity and understanding to navigate complex reinsurance issues.

Elvis holds a master’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Ghana.  Additionally, he is a Chartered Insurance Risk Manager (CIRM) from the CII UK and brings a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to excellence in the insurance industry.

Vanida Pillay is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of areas, including underwriting, business development, claims management, retail and reinsurance broking, and business leadership.

She possesses a deep understanding of the industry, enabling her to leverage a comprehensive skill set and an extensive network of national and international contacts. Her strengths lie in optimizing revenue streams for organizations while fostering robust client and partner relationships.

Ms. Pillay has specialized knowledge in the Construction and Engineering domain and expertise across various insurance lines, including Assets All Risks (PD/BI), Marine Cargo & Hull, Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Construction Bonds. This breadth of knowledge allows her to deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet clients’ unique needs.

She is a proud Fellow and professional member of the Insurance Institute of South Africa and an active participant in Gauteng Women in Insurance.

Head of Markets: Southern Africa

Fadzai is a reinsurance professional with experience in reinsurance broking spanning 4 years within the Southern African region.Heracumen includes client relationship management, business development ,business retention and credit control.

She holds a BA honors Degree in Development Studies and is committed to learning and growing within the reinsurance space. She has certificates in the Young Insurance Professionals Program  YIPP) and Proficiency in Short Term Reinsurance (PSTR)  and also holds a Key Individual status. Fadzai occupies the post of Head of Markets-Southern Africa underwriting business in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe. Her experience working with the Southern African market is instrumental in bringing to life the organization’s mandate to provide innovative reinsurance solutions suitable for the market.

Central Africa & Lusophone
Deputy Regional Director for French and Lusophone Markets

Arcanjo is a proficient reinsurance professional with experience in Treaty and Claims.

As a bilingual speaker, he communicates in Portuguese, French, and English.

He is passionate about Business Development, client relationships, and Risk underwriting.

He occupies the post of Overseas Manager – Lusophone and Central African Markets. Underwriting businesses in countries such as Mozambique, Angola, Cameroon, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo etc.

Arcanjo holds a degree in Geology (petrology) and a Master’s degree in Geology, specializing in Geodynamics of the lithosphere.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

With over thirteen (13) years of experience in Administration, Sales, and Customer Service, Michels has a track record of significantly increasing service quality, sales, and customer base from her previous employers.

 She is an inventive problem solver with a history of providing solutions to muddled situations, managing administrative tasks commendably, communicating distinctly and professionally and handling scheduling and logistics. 

She proactively identifies sales prospects and conducts business development activities in the geography assigned.

Michels holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the Christian Service University, a diploma in business studies from Sunyani Technical University, and certificates in customer service and marketing.

Yantee is a results-driven professional with a strong background in finance, accounting and administration, holding a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting and is aqualified ACCA member.

Yantee achieved national recognition by ranking 15th in the Economics side (Girls) for the Cambridge Higher School Certificate in 2012 and securing 1st place in ACCA P7 (Advanced Audit and Assurance) in 2018.

Having served as Deputy CEO of Royal Shield (Re) Limited, she now brings her expertise to Seychelles Reinsurance Global Limited, where she focuses on strategic and operational planning, regulatory complianceand financial oversight in the reinsurance sector.

Her career spans management companies, financial services and payroll, equipping her with a versatile skill set in governance, financial and risk management, process improvement &efficiency and client engagement. In addition to her corporate role, Yantee is also Director of Jookoo Agrifresh Ltd, where she channels her passion for agribusiness innovation and sustainable development.

Shahina Chattun, FCCA, holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She brings extensive experience in audit, accounting, and corporate finance, having served as a Junior Auditor in an audit firm, Accounts Manager in an accounting and tax practice, and Group Accounting Manager in the yacht sector. She now serves as Financial Controller at Seyre Global.

Shahina has strong expertise in preparing financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), payroll management, cash flow forecasting, management accounts, tax compliance, and business restructuring. She has successfully managed clients across a wide range of sectors, including SMEs and international businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial support.

Skilled in IFRS reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, and internal controls, Shahina combines technical expertise with strong leadership and team management abilities. She plays a key role in assisting management with strategic decision-making, recruiting staff, and running the accounting department, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical financial practices.

In his current role as Account Officer at Seychelles Reinsurance Global Limited, he leverages his expertise in financial oversight, asset management, process optimization, and operational efficiency to drive informed decision-making and foster sustainable business growth.

Renowned for his analytical acumen, proactive mindset, and results-oriented approach, Vijay has successfully streamlined workflows, reinforced internal controls, implemented cost-saving strategies, and delivered measurable impact across both public and private sector environments.

A nationally ranked achiever in Travel and Tourism at the Higher School Certificate level, he is pursuing his ACCA qualification to further strengthen his professional credentials and thrives in multicultural settings, consistently contributing to organizational excellence through precision, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Throughout his career, he has consistently provided innovative and effective solutions to complex reinsurance challenges, earning a strong reputation for his strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Pradeep holds a bachelor’s degree in insurance and valuation from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and has obtained professional qualifications from the Indian Insurance Institute in India. This solid academic foundation, combined with his extensive industry experience, has enabled him to develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of reinsurance dynamics.

Since February 1, 2024, Pradeep has been serving as the Head of Credit Control at Sey Re, where he leverages his expertise and leadership to deliver exceptional results for the organisation.
